How do I create an account?

You can create a VolleyZone account here and follow the steps on our VolleyZone guides to complete your profile.

I have clicked the reset password button/received an email to activate my account but I have not received the email or my email address has changed. What do I do?

We can reset your password/activate your account for you. Please email membership@volleyballengland.org and let us know your full name, email address and VEU number (if possible) & we will be able to reset your password/activate your account/update your email address and provide you with your log in details.

My date of birth is wrong on my profile, how do I get this changed?

You do not have permissions to update this. Please email membership@volleyballengland.org and let us know your full name, your VEU number (if possible) and correct date of birth & we will get this updated for you.

How long does my registration last for?

Our membership season runs from the 1st August - 31st July. Your registration will expire on the 31st July regardless of when you purchase your registration within the season. This is listed on your VolleyZone account.

My registration has lapsed, how do I renew this?

To renew your registration, please log into your VolleyZone account and select 'Manage registrations' on the left-hand side menu. Select 'Buy your registration' in the drop-down menu and follow the on screen instructions. We have multiple VolleyZone guides which can help you.

I cannot purchase my registration because it says my profile is not up to date. What do I need to do?

Please check your profile page (click to edit your profile on the left-hand side menu) and to make sure all information with an asterisk is completed, including your profile picture. Click the 'blue submit' button at the bottom of the page.

We have had individuals tell us they are struggling to join the club on VolleyZone, what do they need to do?

Please send the following instructions to your club members and they will be able to join the club.
1. Log into VolleyZone 
1. Select ‘My Clubs’ on the left-hand side menu 
2. Select ‘List Clubs’ which will show as a drop down on the left-hand side menu 
3. In the top right corner of the screen (under the logout button) there will be a ‘+ join club’ button 
4. Search the name of the club in the pop-up box  
5. Click submit                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                   

An email will be sent to the club secretary informing them a member request has been made and needs to be approved.

How do I approve member requests on VolleyZone?

Only committee members will receive email notification of the request to join the club.  Please follow the below steps to approve or reject these:

1. Log into VolleyZone
2. Select ‘Club admin’ from the left-hand side menu
3. Select ‘member approvals’ to approve or decline the request. You may need to go to the last page to see this. Here you can also remove old members from your clubs

My Membership card is incorrect, it is currently stating my wrong qualification, please can this be updated?

Yes of course, please email membership@volleyballengland.org with your full name & VEU number (if possible) and we look into this for you and update your membership card.

How do I buy a voucher?

You can follow the steps on the VolleyZone guide here to purchase voucher(s). You can then provide the voucher code to individuals within your club or organisation.

How do I redeem a voucher?

Please follow the below steps to use the voucher code & purchase your registration:

1. Log into your VolleyZone Account
2. Select ‘Manage Registrations’ from the left-hand side menu
3. Select ‘Buy your registrations’ from the drop-down menu
4. In the registration type box select ‘relevant registration’
5. Add in the voucher code you have in the ‘Have a discount voucher’ box & click the blue ‘apply’ button.
6. Select the green checkout button & follow the onscreen instructions to complete the purchase of your registration.                           

My club has purchased a voucher for me to book onto a course, when do I need to use this by?

Any vouchers that your club has purchased will need to be redeemed inline with the membership season it was purchased in. Please add the code into the discount voucher box when you are booking onto a course.

As an affiliated club would we be eligible for any funding?

As an affiliated club, you can request our funding guide by emailing membership@volleyballengland.org which can support your club to access funding & you will benefit from access to discounted equipment with our partners.

What do I need to do to set up a new club?

When starting a volleyball club, it's important to make sure that you have the right organisational structure in place and that your club is insured. Good governance is the foundation of a well-run club, you can find more information on setting up your club here.

I am looking to set up a new club, why do I need to contact you?

We ask that you get in touch so we can provide you with best practice and governance support to help your club run effectively. It allows us to make sure you have a committee & a constitution in place and to provide further support for your club to thrive.

We are looking to update our role descriptions, do you have any templates?

Yes we have a range of role descriptions which affiliated clubs can use as templates. Please email membership@volleyballengland.org to gain access to these.

Do you have a risk assessment template?

Yes, please email membership@volleyballengland.org to gain access to this.

How do I purchase my club affiliation?

Only club committee members can purchase your club affiliation, this is to be made via your own VolleyZone account and can be purchased following the steps in the video here.

Where can I download our insurance certificate from?

You can download the insurance certificate from your club profile on VolleyZone, follow the below steps to access this: 
1. Log into your own VolleyZone account
2. Click 'Club Admin' from the left-hand side menu
3. Selecting 'My Clubs' from the drop-down menu
4. Click on the club name. This will then bring up your club profile & from here you will be able to download your affiliation certificate & insurance certificate.

We want to purchase the referee/coach registration for our referees/coaches, how do we do this?

You will need to purchase a voucher for them, please see the follow the steps on the VolleyZone guide to do this.

Once you have completed the purchased you can then give the coach/referee the code which they can apply when they go into purchase their registration. Please be aware that the individual will need to have the correct qualification listed on their VolleyZone account for this to be put this through.

I am trying to affiliate my club, however when at the checkout, it is charging £41.45. It says that a Junior club is £0.00, how can we get this changed?

Please email membership@volleyballengland.org with your club name & VEC number (if possible) and we will be able to update your club type on your account to make sure that you pay the correct club affiliation. Please be aware all players needs to be under the age of 18. 

We are looking to expand our coaching offer, can you help us to find one?

As an affiliated club, we can share any coaching vacancies you may have, please complete this form and we can get this added to our web page here and the Time Out newsletter.

You should include information on: the level of experience and qualifications required (Assistant Coach, Level 2 or Level 3), the team, how many hours the coach is required for each week, when and where those sessions will take place and remuneration.

We are struggling to find a referee for our fixture, do you have a referee database?

We do not have a referee database but you can contact your local/regional referee coordinator who can support. You can find their contact details here.

I am looking to take on the role of Club Welfare Officer, what course do I need to complete?

You will need to complete the UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children course every 3 years and then you will be required to attend a Time to Listen multi-sport Course once.

Where can I find support for teaching volleyball in primary schools?

We have a free-to-download resource called Volley2s for teachers aimed at children 7-11 years-old. Check out this useful sitting volleyball teaching card too.

Tier 2 of our U15, U16 and U18 competitions are all about playing opportunities and could be perfect if you have a team to enter. We also have resources to help you organise your own competitions.

My Qualification is not listed on my account so I cannot purchase my registration. How do I get this rectified?

Please contact coaching@volleyballengland.org with information on the course you attend & qualification that you received so we can check this against our records & get this updated on your VolleyZone account for you. Please also send a copy of your certificate when you email us.

My club/university/ school is paying for me to attend a coaching course, what do I need to do?

Your club/university/school will need to purchase a voucher for you (they can follow the steps on the VolleyZone guide to do this), once they have purchased this, they will give you the code which you can apply at the checkout when you book onto the relevant course on VolleyZone. If they would prefer to pay via invoice, kindly note there is a 10% surcharge to cover the administration fees. Please get them to email coaching@volleyballengland.org

I have completed my Level 2 qualification but the certificate on VolleyZone is blank, why is this?

Once you have completed all aspects of your Level 2 coaching qualification (your portfolio, First Aid Qualification & Safeguarding Certificate), we will request your certificate from 1st4Sport who are the awarding body. Your certificate will be sent directly to you in the post. You will need to make sure that your First Aid Certificate & Safeguarding certificate is sent to coaching@volleyballengland.org so that we can check it against our criteria before we certificate you. Unfortunately VolleyZone does not have the functionality to upload electronic certificates.

I have purchased my coach registration but it is not showing on my account, what do I need to do?

Please email the membership team on membership@volleyballengland.org with your VEU number (if possible), payment amount & payment date and we can look into this for you. Please note: a voucher code might have been purchased rather than a coach registration.

I need to renew my Safeguarding & protecting children qualification, what do you recommend?

We recommend that all Coaches and Club Welfare officers complete the UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children Course. This course needs to be completed every 3 years. 

My qualification is not listed on my account so I cannot purchase my registration. How do I get this rectified?

Please contact refereeing@volleyballengland.org with information on the course & qualification that you received so we can check this against our records & get this updated on your VolleyZone account for you. Please also send a copy of your certificate when you email us.

I have recently qualified as a Grade 4 Referee, how can I find out about local refereeing opportunities near me?

You can contact your regional referee co-coordinator who will be able to support you and advise about local opportunities. 

I have my grade 4 qualification, I want to go progress to Grade 3, how do I do this?

After passing the Grade 4 course, you will then be able to obtain higher grades through being observed. You can apply for your Grade 3R assessment on VolleyZone, by selecting Referee Grade 3R Assessment in the event finder and follow the steps to complete the booking. A Referee Assessor will then get in touch with you to arrange the observation and assess you.

I am booked onto an Assistant Coach Award how do I access the resources?

If you have booked & paid for your place on an Assistant Coach Award, please see the step by step guide below to access the resources:

1. Log into your VolleyZone account
2. Select ‘Manage events’ from the left-hand side menu
3. Select ‘My events’ from the drop-down menu
4. You will be able to see the course listed & download the three resources in the resource column.

How much does it cost to complete the Volleyball England Assistant Coach Award?

The cost of the course is £160 per learner (including all course reference material, one years subscription to UK Coaching and a Volleyball England coach registration until the end of the season). More information on the course can be found here.

I have had a look on the event finder however there are no courses local to me, what can I do?

If you are unable to find a course convenient to you please complete the form here and we will add you to our course waiting list. We will use this data to organise new courses dependent upon the needs identified.

I am currently attending an Assistant Coach Award course and I am struggling to access the UK Coaching e-learning.

For all UK Coaching e-learning queries/ issues please email customercare@ukcoaching.org and a team member will get back to you. Kindly note that this is a separate entity to Volleyball England.

I have booked onto a course but not received the welcome information, what shall I do?

Welcome emails are typically sent at least 1 week before the course start date. Please check your junk/spam folder before emailing coaching@volleyballengland.org or refereeing@volleyballengland.org

How much does it cost to complete the Grade 4 Referee Course?

The cost of the course is £70 and you can book a course through VolleyZone. More information on the course can be found here.

I am trying to book onto a course, but it is saying I do not meet the pre-requisites, what do I do?

Please email membership@volleyballengland.org with your full name and VEU number (if possible). If you have just set up your account, it could be that your date of birth is incorrect, please send your correct date of birth when you email us so we can update your VolleyZone account.

I need to renew my first aid, what do you recommend?

I have booked onto a course but I am struggling to access the VEOA (Volleyball England Officials Academy) what can I do?

Please refer to the instructions on your welcome email and the contact information provided if you are having issues. More information on the VEOA can be found here.

What is the minimum age to attend a course?

Learners are required to be at least 16 years of age on the first day of the course for both the Assistant Coach Award & Grade 4 Referee course.

What Level of First Aid would you like us to have at matches/training?

We require that you have a qualified first aider at any game or training that takes place, and that their qualification is in date. This first aider can be provided by the venue, for example if there is a qualified person on reception. As part of the prerequisites for our level 2 coaching course we require a first aid qualification, so the majority of clubs will cover this requirement that way.

Do I need a registration to play in the Volleyball England cup and Shield?

Yes, players for NVL teams are covered by their NVL player registrations. Players for non NVL teams are required to purchase a local or regional player registration which is free of charge.

How can I delete a team on VolleyZone?

Unfortunately you do not have the access to delete a team on VolleyZone. However you have access to edit the team and re-purpose it. If you do wish to delete a team, please contact the Volleyball England HUB on membership@volleyballengland.org. Please be aware that any individuals associated with the team will be removed (not from VolleyZone but from the team) when the request has been completed.

How do I purchase my child's junior registration?

You can purchase your child's player junior registration by following the steps on the video here.

How do I manage my child's account?

To access your child's account please follow the below steps:

1. Log into your own VolleyZone account
2. Select ‘Manage Registrations’ on the left-hand side menu
3. Select ‘My Childs Account’ from the drop-down menu
4. This will bring up both your child’s account
5. From here you will have access to do 3 things:

a - The first is to ‘edit’ their accounts, which is the blue pencil button, this will allow you to update any personal details for them
b - The second is to ‘release’ their accounts, which is the orange release button which will you to release their accounts from yours once they are over the age of 18 (you will need to have another email address to update the account when released).
c - The third is to ‘impersonate’ their them, which is the little figure head button. This will allow you to go into their account and purchase a registration for them each season.

How do I link my account to my childs?

If your child already has a VolleyZone account, please contact membership@volleyballengland.org and we can link your accounts together, please provide the full name and VEU number if possible. 

If your child does not have a VolleyZone account, you can create one by logging into your VolleyZone account, select 'Manage my registrations' on the left-hand side menu, select 'create child account' and complete the required information.

How do I get my child to join their team on VolleyZone?

Follow the below steps to join your child to the team they play in:

1. Log in to your VolleyZone account
2. Follow the steps 1-5 in managing your child account FAQ above and impersonate your child
3. Select ‘Team Information’ on the left-hand side menu
4. Select ‘My Teams’ which will show as a drop down on the left-hand side menu
5. In the top right corner of the screen (under the logout button) there will be a ‘+ join team’ button
6. Search the name of the team in the pop-up box and Click the blue ‘submit’ button

If my child has the junior NVL player registration, does this cover them to take part in the National Junior Competitions?

No, you are required to have separate registration, please follow the steps on the video to purchase the Junior Competitions Registered Player at a cost of £5.00.

My team is interested in joining the NVL for the 2023-2024 season, how do we join?

Please complete the expression of interest form here and a member of the competitions team will be in touch with further information. 

I am an NVL player but I have selected the wrong federation of origin on my account & it is now saying that I need an international transfer. What does this mean and what can I do to get this changed?

International Transfers are required for any player whose Federation of Origin is not Volleyball England. “Federation of Origin” is the National Federation where a player was first registered to play in a volleyball competition (for a club, team, school, or other volleyball entity that is affiliated either directly or indirectly with the Federation) over the age of 14. More information can be found here.

If you have incorrectly put your federation of origin, please email competitions@volleyballengland.org.uk and they will be able to help you with this

Some of my NVL players are not showing on our team page, why is this?

This could be for a couple of reasons: 

1. The player has not yet purchased their NVL player registration, please watch the video on how to do this. 

2. The player requires an international transfer which has not been completed. More information on international transfers can be found here. International transfers require Volleyball England to approve this once it has been completed. 

3. The players federation of origin is not completed on their VolleyZone profile.

4. The player has joined the club rather than the team - see the steps in Competition Junior FAQs above.

Why am I NOT getting emails from the Volleyball England HUB/opposition about matches?

The Volleyball England HUB and your opposition use the team secretary and secondary team contacts information stored on VolleyZone to contact you. VolleyZone is a self-service platform, so you need to get the details updated by your club committee or other team secretary if listed.

I have left my position/club/team why am I still receiving emails?

The Volleyball England HUB and your opposition use the team secretary and secondary team contacts stored in VolleyZone to contact you. VolleyZone is a self-service platform, so you need to update the details.

I have tried registering for the NVL and ended up paying for England International Athlete - how can I get this changed?

Please email membership@volleyballengland.org with your full name & VEU number (if possible). We will be able to look into this and transfer your membership over. Once we have done this we will confirm with you and it will be shown on your account.

I am playing for a new team this season, why do I need to pay a transfer fee and how do I do it?

If you are looking to play for a different NVL team and you have been registered in the last two seasons (19-20 and 21-22) you be required to complete a transfer to register for a different club. More information on transfers can be found here. Please follow the below steps on how to do this: 

1. Log into you VolleyZone account
2. Request to leave current team (this is under team information)
3. Once leave has been approved request to join new team & follow the onscreen instruction to make the £22.00 payment.

I accidentally joined the wrong team in my club. Are you able to change my membership without me paying a transfer fee?

You shouldn't be required to pay a transfer fee to move teams within the same club. If you have any issues with this then please contact competitions@volleyballengland.org

I am an NVL player but I have selected my Federation of Origin as England rather than another country when setting up my profile. I know I require an International transfer so how I can I get this initiated?

Please contact competitions@volleyballengland.org about your international transfer, please include your VIS number if known. A member of the team will be able to provide further instructions to support you with your international transfer request.

Do we need to have a level 2 coach list on our team sheet?

You are required to have a Level 2 coach listed as your Head Coach with your NVL team on VolleyZone. If your level 2 coach is working towards completing their qualification, evidence must be supplied to competitions@Volleyballengland.org

How do we book onto the Sitting Grand Prix?

You can book the Grand Prix for your team via VolleyZone. If you log into your VolleyZone account and search the event, you can follow the onscreen instructions to complete the booking. 

Do I need a registration to play in the Grand Prix?

Yes, you will need to have a Sitting Volleyball Registered Player (senior or junior). You can follow the steps on the video to purchase. This covers you for the sitting GP and the cup.

Do I need to have an impairment to play in the Sitting Grand Prix?

No, this is open to any individual who would like to play.

There has been a change in our university committee & we need to make payment to play in BUCS, what do we need to do?

Speak to your University sport department to see if they have access and can do this or contact Volleyball England on membership@volleyballengland.org to get your account linked. If you do not currently have a VolleyZone account, please register here.

Our University needs support to run our recreational sessions. Can you help us?

Volleyball England flagship Higher Education Volleyball Officer (HEVO) Programme, offers students from all universities a voluntary position to work with the National Governing Body and their university. The roles involve leading and coordinating the development of recreational volleyball at your university to encourage new players to come into the sport and to ensure all players have a quality experience at whatever level they participate. Is our university insured to run a UV festival as a mass participation event?

If your university is affiliated to Volleyball England you will be covered through our insurance as it is recognised volleyball activity. 

Our university plays in the BUCS league and Volleyball England student cup, what club affiliation do we need?

You only require the BUCS club affiliation as this enables you to access both the BUCS league and Student cup however if you compete in any regional or national league you will need the standard affiliation. If you believe your club affiliation is incorrect please contact membership@volleyballengland.org to discuss this further.

I am playing in the student cup, do I need to be registered to Volleyball England?

Yes, all players are required to purchase the Student Cup Registered Player to play. You can follow the steps on the video to do this.

Is there a way to get receipt for any of our purchases via VolleyZone? 

Yes, we can provide you with receipts of any purchases via VolleyZone however these need to be requested by emailing membership@volleyballengland.org and we can support you with this.

I am looking for a club or somewhere to play, how do I find my nearest volleyball session?

Please use our club finder and enter your postcode to find your nearest session.

I am looking to play professionally in England, I am a professional in my country can you help me find anything?

It is great to hear that you are looking into playing in the UK. Unfortunately in England, volleyball is not a professional sport meaning there are limited paid opportunities for players. Therefore due to the limited paid opportunities Volleyball England are unable to support overseas players looking to play in England.

How do I register my son/daughter for the upcoming camp?

Registration is completed via VolleyZone, an email will be sent to the email linked to the account where you can accept or decline the camp. 

We have been invited to a camp but we are not sure how to accept it.

You will receive an email to log into your VolleyZone account, follow the below steps to accept or decline the invitation: 

1. Select 'Manage events from the left-hand side menu 
2. Select my events on the drop-down menu
3. Go to the camp event (this will be the last entry) and in the action column at the end select the green answer button and follow the onscreen instructions.

How do I pay for my child to go on the camps?

You will have been contacted by the talent team to make payment via direct debit. If you have not received the link to completed this please contact the Talent team on talent@volleyballengland.org

My child was booked onto a camp but they were unable to make it, is there a policy for refunds for missed events?

Please read the Athlete Handbook 2022-2023 as all the information is provided on page 20 including next steps.

How do I know the start time of a camp?

This information is listed on the VolleyZone event you have been invited to.

What do I do if my child has an allergy?

Please updated this information on your child's VolleyZone account. Please edit the profile and select disability and/or Current/Pre Existing Injuries and Conditions, selecting the blue 'submit' at the bottom of the page to save the information. There is also a medical consent form listed in the Athlete Handbook 2022/2023.

Can my son/daughter attend a closed trial?

Closed trials have a certain criteria for an athlete to be invited. More information on them can be found here.
