Have Your Say
As a membership organisation, we recognise the value and importance of engaging with our members in meaningful ways.
The below sets out how and when we will consult with our members, and where decisions are made through formal governance processes without wider consultation.
Understanding the role of consultation
While we actively seek member input to inform our decisions, it’s important to note that not all suggestions can be implemented.
We often receive a range of views, and decisions must balance diverse perspectives, organisational priorities, and long-term sustainability. Consultation is about listening and learning (not necessarily agreeing) and we remain committed to making informed, fair, and transparent choices.
Our current consultation channels
We already have several mechanisms in place to capture member insight and feedback, including:
-
Regular surveys on key topics:
Provide feedback on the Regional Junior Competitions Five-year Development Plan, by clicking here.
-
A general feedback function available by clicking here.
-
Quarterly updates on our Game Plan strategy by clicking here, highlighting progress and upcoming priorities
-
Regular feedback opportunities through our Working Groups, Town Halls and Communities of Practice groups.
These tools provide members with accessible and transparent ways to share their views and stay informed.
When we will consult
We will actively consult with members when:
-
A decision or policy directly impacts a broad section of the membership
-
We are shaping new programmes or initiatives that benefit from user experience and feedback
-
There is a clear need for insight to inform or strengthen decision-making
-
Consultation enhances transparency, trust, and collective ownership of outcomes
When we will not consult
There are areas where consultation with the wider membership is not appropriate. These include, but are not limited to:
-
Operational or financial decisions where broader consultation is impractical or inappropriate
-
Governance matters that fall within the remit of the Board or delegated authority groups
-
Decisions where member interests may conflict with organisational sustainability (e.g. pricing decisions such as competition entry fees)
In such cases, decisions are taken in line with our Governance Framework, with oversight from the Board and relevant committees. While we remain transparent about these decisions, they are not subject to member consultation.
Our Commitment
We are committed to open dialogue with our members and welcome ongoing feedback through our established channels. While not all decisions can or should be made through consultation, we will always strive to be transparent, inclusive where appropriate, and responsive to the needs of our membership.
