Coaching staff (sitting)

The GB sitting volleyball set-up was restructured in May 2025 to be lead by two new Head Coaches for the men's and women's teams.

GB Women's Head Coach

Justin Philips

Justin has been a men’s GB athlete since 2012. His journey from player to coach demonstrated to the BVF his deep passion and commitment to the discipline of sitting volleyball.

After injury sidelined him as a player, Justin spent nine months as the women’s assistant coach, where he showed his leadership and technical expertise.

He has also been instrumental in Paralympic recruitment days, helping to identify and nurture new talent.

GB Men's Head Coach

Krystian Kowalski

Krystian has extensive coaching experience after developing talent at multiple levels.

He has coached indoor volleyball at UCL University and MAAREE Women’s Super League side Team SideOut Polonia, as well as coaching on the Volleyball England Talent Pathway.

Beyond volleyball, the Pole’s passion for inclusive sport shines through from his full-time work with a sporting charity focused on bringing athletic opportunities to children with special needs.
