Volleyball Futures Talent Zones

Volleyball Futures supports the development of young players who aspire to play for England.

Volleyball Futures is evolving. After several successful years of delivering national camp experiences for young athletes, the volleyball programme is transitioning into the new Futures Talent Zones—regional hubs designed to offer earlier access, better support, and clearer pathways for developing players.

This change means more young athletes will benefit from high‑quality training closer to home, with Futures now fully integrated into the England Talent Pathway.

The Four Zones

Volleyball Futures is built around three key strands that work together to support both players and coaches. Based on junior participation patterns and logistics, four Zones will operate under Volleyball England oversight:

  • North (Lancashire, Yorkshire, and north)
  • Central (Midlands)
  • London and East (London, Essex, Kent)
  • South and West (Sussex, Surrey, and west)

These outlines are guides rather than fixed borders. Athletes will join the Zone that makes the most sense for travel — no “Zone hopping.” All Zones will receive equivalent support and run to the same standards.

What happens in a Talent Zone?

  • Camps every 4–6 weeks: mostly one-day sessions, with longer options during school holidays.
  • On-court and off-court development: performance behaviours, nutrition, sports psychology, Physical conditioning.

How do athletes get selected?

All athletes born in 2012, 2013 and 2014 are eligible for Volleyball England’s Talent Zones.

Please note, for athletes to be selected into the England U18 squads, they must hold a valid UK passport to be eligible for participation in international competitions.

The launch camp for the North and Central Zones will be on 10th October 2026 at Loughborough University.

The launch camp for the London and East and South and South-West Zones, meanwhile, will be on 11th October 2026 at Sevenoaks School.

The cost of this camp is £50 per person, which includes two on-court coaching sessions, physical testing, an off-court education session, a t-shirt and an opportunity to meet the zone staff and there will be some special Super League and England players in attendance.

At both camps, the days will run from 10am to 6pm. The official schedule will be shared with all attendees ahead of camp.

To apply, please complete the form here before 9am on Friday 2nd October.

There are a limited number of places available. Volleyball England will confirm if your application has been successful by 5pm on Friday 2nd October.
