Nottingham is a vibrant city, the biggest urban area in the East Midlands region of England (though Leicester as a city is slightly bigger).
It is famed for it's connections to famous English outlaw Robin Hood and later came to prominence as a textile hub.
It has a rich sporting heritage being home to two-time European Cup winners Nottingham Forest FC, former FA Cup winners Notts County, Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, Nottingham Panthers Ice Hockey, Nottingham Rugby, Beeston Hockey Club and more.
Both its universities, the University of Nottingham (where this event is being held) and Nottingham Trent University have active sports scenes with the two rivals regularly holding varsity matches.
It has its own sitting volleyball club, Nottingham Casualties as well as NVL indoor teams University of Nottingham and Nottingham Rockets.
