Meet your first three Annual Awards 2024 judges...

Volleyball England is delighted to introduce three of the six judges who will select the winners of the Annual Awards 2024.

Nominations remain open until Sunday 10th March (see below), after which the judging panel –drawn from across the Volleyball and sports community – will meet to draw up a three-person shortlist for each of the 12 categories in which nominations are being received.

Those shortlists will be announced towards the end of March or in early April before the presentation ceremony takes place on the Saturday (20th April) of Cup Finals Weekend at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering.

All those shortlisted across the award categories will be invited along to the ceremony, where the winners will then be revealed.

Details of the other three judges will be announced next week.

Anna Knibbs

Anna is the Workforce Project Lead at Volleyball England, primarily organising the delivery of coach and referee courses, and supporting the workforce.

“Seeing daily how much time and effort our volunteers dedicate to support volleyball, the sport wouldn’t be what it is without them,” she said. “I am looking forward to helping recognise their hard work and achievements.”

Lucy Lawrence

Lucy is currently the Coaching Project Manager at England Netball, working closely and supporting community-based coaches.

She said: “Volunteers are the lifeblood of sport; it’s hugely important to acknowledge those who make a positive impact on others’ lives through the participation in and enjoyment of sport, so I am delighted to be part of the judging panel to help celebrate these wonderful people!”

Olivia Warwick

Olivia is a consultant at Continuum Sport and Leisure Ltd and works directly with Buddle in supporting the grassroots delivery organisations and the professional workforce that support them.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the upcoming VE awards - volunteers are integral to providing opportunities, positive experiences and breaking down barriers for people to be physically active,” she said. “My personal sporting journey has relied greatly on volunteers, so I can't wait to celebrate the inspiring work of some of those selfless individuals within Volleyball England.”
