Super League Teams of the Month and Errea Players of the Month for December

It is part of the bid to step up coverage and raise the profile of the English volleyball’s top flight.  

A team of seven female players and seven male players have been selected after the completion of matches during November.  

For each team, a setter, two middles, two outside, an opposite and a libero have been chosen using players’ stats uploaded to HUDL by 3rd January 2023. 

From that team, one Errea Women’s Player of the Month and Errea Men’s Player of the Month has been selected.

Errea Women’s Player of the Month  

The Errea Women’s Player of the Month is Setter,  Malea Stanton from Durham Palatinates.

The Errea Men’s Player of the Month is Opposite, Nelson Murangwa from Leeds Gorse.

Selection Process

Players are ranked based on their position and how they compare to other players in the league of the same position. These rankings are put into a final team of the month from which the Player of the Month panel then selects one player from the women’s and men’s team of the month and awards these players as Player of the Month.

The Player of the Month panel will be made up of current England Senior Men’s coach, former Scotland player and now FIVB tutor Simon Loftus, former England Junior Women assistant coach and former England player Alex Smith and Volleyball England Strategic Manager (Talent) and former coach at all three levels of the USA’s NCAA Championship, John Forman.  

Players can only be considered if a full HUDL analysis is completed, which is undertaken once clubs have uploaded live streams of their matches. Home clubs are reminded that it is a Super League regulation for 2023-24 to upload a live stream of each match within 24 hours of a match finishing.
