CEO asks for member understanding and support during VolleyZone transition

Volleyball England Chief Executive Officer Charlie Ford is asking for understanding and support from the volleyball community while the transition from the old to new VolleyZone systems is completed.

The new platform will go live on Monday 26th June, from which point users will be able to log in and check that their details have transferred over correctly, but this is only the start of the journey, with many new processes being rolled out in the coming weeks and months.

The switch-over is being implemented at this point to ensure that the many activities that Volleyball England, clubs and volunteers administer over the summer can be completed, and that all is ready for the new indoor 2023-24 season.

It will also maximise the time available to iron out any teething problems that occur before the start of the new campaign.

“While our staff have carried out testing, whenever there is a migration from one system to another on this scale there are inevitably going to be some issues in the short-term with missing or inaccurate data and features, or where it might not be clear to members what they need to do on the new system,” said Ford.

“That is where we would urge people to bear with us and work with us while the Volleyball England staff and our system providers SportLoMo do everything they can to resolve these and make things as smooth as possible.

“Of course, we know there are going to be bumps in the road, but the long-term goal is, and always has been, that we want an improved system that better serves volleyball across the country.”

“A major system change like this is no small undertaking and this is only one of the many things we are currently working on to drive The Game Plan forward at speed. Please be patient with us if we take longer in responding to your queries, as the whole team is working extremely hard during this period.”

On launch day, the new platform will automatically generate emails to all current users with a link to activate their account on the new system.

Users can also use this opportunity to update any of their details, and a User Migration Journey Guide to help users through the process can be found here.

Further information, including how-to guides, will be shared on an ongoing basis and when required for specific processes.

Volleyball England’s Competitions Working Group Lead, James Murphy, added: “Going live with the new VolleyZone system will be a welcome next step as Volleyball England bids to better serve its members, but it is clear there is still significant effort required from all concerned to get where we want to be.

“One thing you can be assured of is that people will be working hard in the background to help us reach that collective goal and iron out any problems that come to light in the coming weeks and months and we remain committed to providing a system that will support not only Volleyball England but all regions and counties too as they choose to come on board.”
