Statement on Indoor Beach Centre Project

The four-court indoor facility had been planned for development at the University’s sports headquarters in Perry Barr.

Following careful consideration, the University concluded that the project costs are no longer financially feasible for it to support.

Birmingham City University recognises the strategic importance of an indoor beach sports facility and regrets that the project could not proceed.

Volleyball England and Sport England remain committed to the development of an Indoor Beach Centre and are actively exploring alternative options within Birmingham, the West Midlands and potentially further afield.
