The event was founded in 2003, shortly after Wagner's death, and honours his legacy and contribution to both Polish and world volleyball.

Biegajlo refereed in four games, including Poland v Brazil, and Serbia v Argentina.

"Refereeing teams like Poland v Brazil is an honour and the dream of many referees around the world," he said.

"For me personally, this was the most important event after the London Olympics. It's a truly magnificent occasion, with such a wonderful audience in one of the most beautiful sports halls in Krakow, accomodating 15,000 to 20,000 fans."

The tournament is important in the volleyball world as it acts as a preparation tournement for major events such as World Championships and European Championships.

Dominik added: "It's a huge event for me, my family, and the entire English Federation, which I hope I represented with distinction."
