National Cup and Shield quarter-final draws

In the Men’s National Cup, IBB Polonia and Essex Rebels go head to head for the third consecutive season. 

With the Colchester-based side having got the upper hand in the last two cup meetings, the London club will be looking to turn the tables on this occasion. 

Division 1 Lincon Cannons meet current DYNAMIK Men’s Super League leaders Malory Eagles UEL, who lost in last season’s final to Durham Palatinates. 

The lowest-ranked team left, Cambridge ARU, welcome Super League’s bottom club Stockport, while Richmond Docklands take on London Ginats in an exciting capital derby. 

The Women’s National Cup will see the only non-NVL team, last year’s National Shield winners London Bears, eye a shock as they host reigning champions Team SideOut Polonia. 

Last season’s runners-up Durham Palatinates will have home advantage as Darkstar Derbyshire make the trip north while Leeds Gorse an Essex Rebels side one place above them in the MAAREE Women’s Super League table. 

Still-unbeaten Malory Eagles UEL will make the short journey up the M11 to play fellow Super League side Cambridge ARU. 

An East Midlands derby between Division 2 Central Loughborough Students and Division 3 North Central Nottingham Rockets is among the Men’s National Shield ties to have been drawn. 

Unbeaten Division 2 North leaders Manchester Marvels will face a Division 2 South Wessex side who face a long trip north. 

The only non-NVL team, The Army are away at Division 2 Central Coventry and Warwick Riga while Division 2 North Sheffield will travel across the Welsh border to take on Division 2 South Cardiff Panthers. 

In the Women’s Shield, the surviving non-NVL team, Newcastle Panthers, will welcome Division 2 North Loughborough Students as Division 2 West Bristol and Division 2 North Sheffield meet in the South West. 

Bedminster, entering the National Shield for the first time, will face Division 3 Central opposition in the face of Darkstar Derbyshire 2. 

Unbeaten Division 3 South West pacesetters Reading Aces will go head to head with Division 2 East club Northampton. 

Matches will be played on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th February 2025.
