Role vacancies: Competitions Working Group

Role vacancies: Competitions Working Group

Volleyball England is welcoming applications to four different positions within the Competitions Working Group with a reviewed structure to help support volleyball grow in England.

A key component of the Game Plan strategy focuses on collaboration and the continuous enhancement of products and services that benefit our clubs and the broader volleyball community.

With volleyball growing rapidly and several current working group members planning to step down this summer, the Ace Service Hub team, alongside the working group, has reviewed and restructured the group's framework and practices. This ensures that the group is well-equipped to support ongoing NVL initiatives and other strategic priorities.

The newly revamped Competitions Working Group, led by Simon Cowie (Competitions Delivery Lead), will now operate with four distinct areas of focus. Each area will have clear responsibilities and be accountable to the Ace Service Sub-Group.

The four areas are:

1. Senior competitions (four people): Providing in-season advice and guidance; maintaining standards; dealing with rules and regulation compliance; dispute management; overseeing and supporting senior events; and alignment with the officials working group.

2. Junior competitions (two people): Providing in-season advice and guidance; maintaining standards; dealing with rules and regulation compliance; dispute management; and overseeing and supporting junior events.

3. Transformational change (four people): Providing advice and guidance around implementation of the NVL five-year vision; development and professionalisation of the Super League; digital innovations; expansion of the junior competitive pathway; and longer-term competition planning.

4. Regional and local league connectivity (two people): Strengthening relationships between the NVL and the regional and local league providers and supporting and managing the process of teams entering and leaving the NVL.

Volleyball England is seeking applications for all twelve of these positions from passionate individuals who have either been part of the Working Group previously or who have the desired skills, experience and behaviours to join the revamped group and who want to play a leading role in further strengthening our portfolio of volleyball competitions.

For those wanting to apply for the role, the full job description can be found here

To apply please complete the application form and return to Jobs@volleyballengland.org by the 7th August 2024.

Increasing diversity

In line with Volleyball England’s emerging Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), Articles of Association and the Code for Sports Governance, there is a strong commitment to increase the level of diversity throughout the organisation.

Whereas applications from people from all backgrounds that meet the person specification and have relevant experience are welcomed, those from under-represented groups – which currently includes those from ethnically diverse communities, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities and females – are particularly encouraged.
