National Referee Development Programme

The National Referee Development Programme (NRDP) aims to provide training and support, promoting smooth officating and maintaining a consistently high standard of refereeing for both the highest grade referees and those aspiring to become one.

The programme provides training and development opportunities based on national priorities and personal development needs, whilst also affording referees the opportunity to be selected to referee international matches such as NEVZA.

Criteria

All registered Grade 2 and above referees were invited to join the NRDP by application. Referees who applied were shortlisted and those selected agreed to the following criteria:

  • To be registered as a referee with Volleyball England.
  • To be willing to travel to appointed matches across England.
  • To register unavailability in advance for key events like the Super League Opening Weekend, Final 4s and Super League Live.
  • To be committed to ongoing self development, CPD and specific Super League development sessions.
  • To be dedicated to fostering a collaborative environment, supporting one another and contributing to the growth of the programme.
  • To embrace innovation and technology.
  • To be an advocate for Volleyball England.

Appointments to the group are valid for a 2 year cycle, contingent upon referees meeting the specified criteria.
