NVL update: Tendring withdraw, draft fixture extension, Cup and Shield entries

Tendring's Men and Women's teams have confirmed to Volleyball England that they are to withdraw from the NVL ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Both compete in the respective Division 3 South East categories and means that each division will now have eight rather than nine teams.

"We recognise that this development is disappointing and will have an impact on the plans of clubs in Division 3 South East for the season," said Volleyball England's Project Lead for Competitions and Events.

"Following this notification from Tendring, we have explored all available options, including identifying replacement teams and reopening applications to fill the vacancies. However, given the stage of the season planning process, it is no longer feasible to integrate replacement teams while maintaining the standards expected of the NVL.

"In line with our motivations to delivering a high-quality competition, and maintaining and increasing standards, the decision has been made to proceed with eight teams in the two affected divisions for the 2026-27 season."

Draft fixture window

Draft fixture window has been extended from the original deadline of tomorrow (17th July) to 30th July.

After this date fixtures will be fixed, and referees will start to be assigned to the matches.

Clubs needing to make any changes after this time will need approval from the Volleyball Hub team and the Competitions Working Group.

The deadline for National Cup and National Shield entries is next week (23rd July).
