Membership fees set for 26-27

Volleyball England can now confirm the updated membership fees for the 2026-27 season, which have been set following the publication of the latest UK Retail Price Index figures.

As part of the organisation’s annual review, it is introducing a small number of structural improvements to ensure it can continue to deliver high-quality services, competitions and development opportunities across the sport.

These changes are designed to maintain strong support for clubs and individuals, while ensuring the long-term sustainability of volleyball in England.

Aligning with inflation

The updated fees reflect an annual adjustment aligned with inflation (3%) in line with Volleyball England’s Articles of Association.

This ensures that we can continue to maintain and invest in the quality and breadth of services provided to volleyball’s communities. This includes competition delivery, digital systems, safeguarding support, education programmes, national development initiatives, and more.

Key Changes

Junior Club Affiliation

Please note that the separate Junior Club affiliation category will be removed. Junior and school clubs wishing to participate in Volleyball England competitions or access affiliation benefits will now require a Standard Club affiliation.

This category was originally introduced to encourage junior participation. Volleyball England has previously absorbed a significant proportion of the costs associated with system maintenance, administrative support, and service delivery for this category.

However, junior clubs now receive the same core benefits as other affiliated clubs, including access to competitions, resources, and support services.

To support this transition, Volleyball England will offer:

  • A 50% discount on Standard Club Affiliation for Junior clubs affiliating with Volleyball England for the first time
  • Additional support for Junior clubs experiencing financial hardship during their first year under the revised structure

We remain committed to supporting junior volleyball and ensuring clubs can continue to grow and develop within a sustainable framework.

School/ College Affiliation

Volleyball England will simplify how schools and colleges engage with the sport by introducing a simplified registration process. This will reduce administrative burden for both institutions and the Volleyball England Hub Team, while ensuring schools/colleges remain connected to the wider volleyball network.

Schools and colleges registering with Volleyball England through this process will receive selected benefits, including:

  • Information and communications about volleyball opportunities
  • Wider Volleyball England updates and news
  • Visibility on the Club Finder tool

However, any Schools and colleges wishing to participate in Volleyball England competitions or access the full affiliation benefits will be required to purchase Standard Club affiliation.

Category name change: Player – National Cup and Shield

The membership category previously known as ‘Adult Player – Regional/Local’ and ‘Junior Player – Regional/Local’ will be renamed ‘Player – National Cup and Shield’.

This change has been made to reduce confusion with other player categories used across VolleyZone for local leagues/competitions. Members will only need this membership if participating in Cup and Shield competitions and do not already hold a Volleyball England player membership.

Membership Refund Policy Update

Volleyball England will also be introducing an updated membership refund policy, moving from the current “No Refund” approach to a “Full Refund within 14 Days of Purchase” policy. This change formalises existing practices, ensures fair and consistent treatment of members. The revised policy will also help reduce the administrative burden created by case-by-case refund decisions.

Individual members and affiliated clubs may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided the membership has not been used in a way that activates significant benefits, such as competition participation or an insurance claim. After the 14-day period, memberships will become non-refundable for the remainder of the membership year.
