Super League Preview (28th and 29th March ) - The final weekend

MAAREE Women's Super League
Newcastle Knights and Darkstar Derbyshire are the only two teams not in action, after the East Midlands side forfeited their final fixture. That decision hands the North East side a place in the Final 4 in their debut Super League season.
For Team SideOut Polonia, the path to Crystal Palace is far less straightforward. The capital side must rely on fellow Londoners Lionhearts Vinarius to defeat Malory Eagles, while also securing a win themselves against Essex Rebels.
SideOut face Essex for the third time in just over two months, with the season series currently tied at one win apiece.
Score Leisure Centre in Leyton will host what could be their final meeting of the 2025-26 campaign, unless SideOut break into the Final 4, where the two could then meet again in the medal matches.
Essex are unable to claim the top seed spot, while SideOut cannot finish higher than fourth.
A major boost for SideOut has been the return of American Sydney Busa, who missed most of last season through injury.
Her impact was clear in last week’s National Cup semi-final, where SideOut became only the second team this season – alongside Darkstar on Opening Weekend – to take two sets off league leaders Durham.
However, Mark Kontopoulos' side couldn’t close quite close it out, as Durham mounted a reverse sweep comeback against last year’s cup silver medallists.
The Rebels head into the weekend with their Final 4 place already secured, but will be eager to avoid a semi-final clash with Durham on 11th April at Crystal Palace.
Alex Chinery’s side also come off a demanding midweek, having faced Durham in the BUCS Big Wednesday Championship Final.

Malory Eagles, meanwhile, can secure their Final 4 place – and continue their title defence – with a win over Lionhearts
Three points would guarantee their spot regardless of results elsewhere. They arrive in strong form after a commanding 3–0 victory over Darkstar in the National Cup, which takes them into an April final against Durham.
The weekend begins at 12noon tomorrow (Saturday), as already-relegated Leeds Gorse host unbeaten league leaders Durham Palatinates at the Ruth Gorse Academy, live as part of Super League coverage. Watch here.

Leeds will be aiming to end their season on a high, but face a daunting challenge against a Durham side that has dropped just six sets all season.
Durham are on the brink of history, potentially becoming the first team in nearly a decade to complete an unbeaten regular season, and the first to do so in the Final 4 era.
Their pursuit of a historic treble remains alive after their 3-0 victory over the University of Essex in Wednesday’s BUCS Big Wednesday final.

DYNAMIK Men’s Super League
It's a key weekend at the bottom of the table as Durham Palatinates and Leeds Gorse face what is a straight shoot-out for survival. Defeat for either side this weekend would confirm relegation to Division 1.
Durham entered the season as title contenders following a high-profile recruitment drive, including several NCAA stars.
However, results haven’t followed expectations, leaving them just one point above the drop zone. Victory would instead send them into a play-off clash with Richmond in mid-April.

Leeds, by contrast, have shown marked improvement since Christmas, picking up crucial points against Richmond and Essex in their fight to stay up.
Despite being winless in their last two outings, they’ll draw confidence from their U18 programme, with both boys’ and girls’ teams securing places in April’s Cup Finals.
Richmond Docklands, already guaranteed a play-off spot, will look to carry momentum from recent performances, including a spirited display against London Giants in last weekend's National Cup semi-final where they lost 3-0 but pushed their opponents throughout.
They face Malory Eagles this weekend with no immediate relegation threat hanging over them, while Jefferson Williams' side are already assured of a Final 4 place.
With neither side able to significantly alter their position, pride and momentum will be the focus.
All eyes will be on Crystal Palace, where London Giants take on Newcastle Knights in what many believe could be a preview of the final.
Giants have the chance to snatch top spot from their rivals on the final day, boosted by their recent claiming of a golden ticket for the National Cup Finals.
They’ll look to capitalise on any fatigue in a Newcastle side that endured in a gruelling five-set defeat to University of Nottingham at BUCS Big Wednesday.
For the Knights, the stakes are just as high. A win would make it 13 victories from 14 matches and secure the number one seed heading into the Final 4.
