Teams invited to enter University Sitting Volleyball Tournament as it returns for 2026
Last year’s maiden tournament was staged at the University of East London’s SportsDock where the hosts beat off the challenge of University of Nottingham, Loughborough University and the University of Essex to emerge as winners.
This year’s event returns to the same venue and is free to enter, though teams are responsible for their own travel.
Teams can be of mixed gender, but all players must either study or work for the university side they are representing.
No previous experience of sitting volleyball is necessary, with guidance given, only a need for enthusiasm to give it a go and a willingness to learn.
First, will be pool matches played to a 25-minute time limit, with the team leading at that point declared the winner.
Timeless placement matches will follow contested across three sets with the first to 25 points (15 points in a deciding set), with the overall winners and runners-up receiving medals.
Free parking is available at the venue and a cafe is accessible on-site.
To enter, or if you have any queries, please email John Worrall, Volleyball England’s Project Lead for sitting volleyball, via j.worrall@volleyballengland.org
