NVL 2024-25 play-off matches schedule and details

Two courts will stage four games each, with staggered start times of between 11am and 6.30pm.
Note that match times are the earliest start times and could be later if previous matches overrun. The divisional heading listed is what the teams are aiming to win promotion into, while the number and/or letters in brackets after each team is the division they are currently in.
The men’s and women’s Super League play-off matches will feature the teams who finished seventh in Super League against the second placed team in NVL Division 1 for the right to play in the top-flight next season.
In the women’s Darkstar Derbyshire will do battle against London Giants, while in the men’s Richmond Docklands will go head to head with Black Country.
The Women’s Division 1 play-off is required because the regulations dictate clubs cannot have two teams in the same division from 2025-26 onwards, meaning neither Division 2 East champions Cambridge, nor second placed team Richmond 2 can be promoted.
With the top two teams in Division 2 North, Division 2 East and Division 2 West being promoted, the vacant promotion slot will be a play-off between sides who finished third in each of the Division 2 Conferences.
As a result, the two teams with the best record from the round-robin between Miners Doncaster (2N), Bedminster (2W) and Northampton (2E) will go up.
The Women’s Division 3 play-off is needed because Southampton 2 cannot be promoted because their first team will be in the division above.
With the top two teams in Division 3 North, Division 3 Central, Division 3 South East and Division 3 South West being promoted, the vacant promotion slot will be a play-off between sides who finished third in each of the Division 3 Conferences.
As a result, Leeds Gorse 3 (3N) will play Darkstar Derbyshire 2 (3C) and Tendring (3SE) will take on Bristol 2 (3SW) in semi-finals with the winners going forward to a final.
Whoever prevails in that match-up will take a place in Division 2 in 2025-26.
Because of the re-jigging of the leagues for next season, no play-offs are required in the men’s lower divisions.
Matches will be live streamed on the Volleyball England YouTube Channel.
