Boost for online volleyball learning as Accelerate Sport to host bespoke platform
A new platform bespoke to volleyball will be launched in the New Year that will provide online courses, training videos, resources, seminars and a social area.
It will help coaches, assistant coaches, referees and other officials and administrators learn new skills as well as refresh existing knowledge, helping to maintain standards of competency across volleyball’s communities.
More online training will also reduce costs compared to travelling to in-person events and allow members to fit things in at a time that is convenient to them.
The first course that will be made available on the cutting-edge Learning Experience Platform (LXP) will be a combined Adults and Young People Safeguarding Course.
“We have been working hard to find ways to make training and resources available to the volleyball community to help them in their roles, while being mindful of the time commitment and costs associated with attending traditional training events,” said Gillian Harrison, Volleyball England’s Strategic Manager for Volleyball for Life (Workforce).
“This new learning platform will offer ongoing support and development opportunities through self-paced learning, allowing users to access materials at their convenience.
Over time, we will continue to expand our offerings to ensure comprehensive support for all members of the volleyball community.
“The bespoke Volleyball England Safeguarding Course under development will be included free in the Assistant Coach and Coach Award courses and for other key volunteer roles from April 2025, meaning a saving of around £40.”
