U18 Junior Grand Prix series attracts 116 entries

The Volleyball England Junior Grand Prix Series returns for the 2024-25 season on the weekend of Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th October – and is set to be the biggest and best yet.

A total of 116 teams have committed to play the full campaign, with 64 boys and 52 girls teams entered.

They will play five rounds in the series – up from four – and the top eight sides in the country (boys and girls) will contest the new Super Series, played at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering.

“The National Junior Competition just keeps getting bigger and better every year with more clubs and teams committing to the Grand Prix Series,” said Richard Williams, Volleyball England’s Project Lead (Competitions and Events), who leads on the delivery of junior competitions.

“I am very pleased that the junior community continues to commit their U18 teams to the National Competitions 24-25 and, with five rounds of competition across 15 games, making the event the most dynamic and competitive to date.

“Coaches and players across the country have contacted us to say how excited they are for the season to start and to see where they will finish in 2024-25.

“The new U18 Grand Prix format gives all 116 teams the motivation and aspiration of gaining national ranking points and increasing their position nationally, while the new Super Series will provide the opportunity for the highest ranked teams to compete against each other for a place in the Last 8s in March.

“With relegation from the Super Series and promotion for the Gold Pool winners in each Grand Prix, the pressure will be on for the Super Series teams to win their first game and maintain their place for the next Grand Prix round and should make for some fantastic volleyball.”

If you are interested in entering a team into Grand Prix 2, then please email Volleyball England via compeititions@volleyballengland.org to be added to a waiting list, with the potential of new pools being added once enough new teams put themselves forward.

Volleyball England would like to take this opportunity to wish all teams competing this season the very best of luck!
