Parsons refereeing at European Sitting Volleyball Championships

The tournament for men and women is being staged in the northern coast town of Caorle, east of Venice, from 9th to 15th October.

With over a decade of dedicated service to World Para Volley – spanning an impressive 12-and-a-half years, and more than two decades of involvement with Volleyball England – Parsons is a respected figure in the world of volleyball officiating. 

His expertise and insights were recently shared as a guest speaker alongside Katarina Cepinova at the 2023 Referee Conference, where he shared details of his international refereeing journey, as well as the challenges he has faced while presiding over matches.

Peter is eagerly anticipating the Championships and said: “I’m looking forward to representing British referring out in Italy, and especially British Sitting Volleyball, in refereeing on the highest stage in European Sitting Volleyball.”

Local organisers are preparing to host the 22 national teams consisting of 12 men’s and 10 women’s squads (including GB), all vying for the coveted title.

The winners in each gender category will secure not only the Championship trophy, but they will also be punching their tickets for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Volleyball England extends its best wishes to Peter and looks forward to seeing him representing his country out in Italy.
