Dr Don Anthony MBE Hall of Fame: 2023 Inductees

The Dr Don Anthony MBE Hall of Fame recognises the success and achievements of volleyball players, referees and coaches at an international level. During our 2023 Annual Awards ceremony held at Cup Finals weekend, we were honored to recognise some of the sport's most inspirational individuals with a place in our Hall of Fame.

The inductees included:

Beach  

• Javier & Joaquin Bello (Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Bronze Medalists)
• Jessica Grimson and Daisy Mumby (Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Female pair)
• Jake Sheaf & Chris Gregory (Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Male pair)
• Jessica Grimson & Vicky Palmer (Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games female pair)
• Greg Thompson (Referee at London 2012 Olympic games, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games & Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, achieving the milestone of refereeing over 1,000 games on the beach.)  

Sitting

• Glynn Archibald (Referee at London 2012 Paralympic Games, Rio 2016 Paralympic Games & Toyko 2021 Paralympic Games along with being the World ParaVolley's Referee Commission Lead since 2018.)  
• Dee Wauchope (Referee at the London 2012 Paralympic Games & 15 European Championships, Continental Cups, World Championships and World cups for World Para Volley.)

Indoor    

• Nick Heckford (international referee doing over 228 games which includes some of biggest FIVB and CEV competitions, with multiple Age-Grade World Championships and Volleyball Nations League events within the last few years, and most recently the CEV Volleyball Cup 2023 Women's Final first leg)
