Nine Volleyball England nominations awarded SportsAid's Backing The Best support

Each will receive £5,000 towards their sport participation from 1st April 2025, which can include travel, camps and physio costs, as well as other things.
Nominees must be unable meet the full costs of competing, have a family income below a certain threshold and be primarily living and training in England in order to apply.
They must also be eligible to compete for England and/or Great Britain and are typically aged between 12 and 18 years old for non-disability sports and up to 35 years for disability sports.

Athletes should be deemed as talented with potential by their NGB and already highly ranked in their national age group rankings as a member of a GB/England age group team or have significant potential to be selected.
“As any parent or carer will know, it can be very expensive to travel around England and abroad to train and compete if you’re a top level athlete. We wish it were otherwise, but it’s the reality of being an England or GB volleyball player,” said John Forman, Volleyball England’s Strategic Manager for Talent.
“Financial support of this kind can therefore make a real difference, so we to thank SportsAid for backing these athletes.”
