Hub Staff give to Kitround campaign for Christmas
The initiative allows those in volleyball’s communities to donate their unwanted pre-gamed and unused sports kit and equipment which others can then buy from the kitround website at affordable prices.
It gives clothing and equipment a second lease of life in an environmentally sustainable way.
The proceeds of those sales will go back into volleyball via a Volleyball England Foundation Hardship Fund.
A number of clubs have already made significant donations to the campaign in the weeks since its launch in October, including Nottingham Rockets, Newcastle Staffs and London Giants.
Items that can be donated include sports footwear, tops, t-shirts, shorts, socks, tracksuits, hoodies and knee pads – in fact, any sports kit that still has plenty of life left in it!
The simplest way to donate is by dropping kit into one of the kitbins at Volleyball England events at the National Volleyball Centre or at Super League Live events.
Inspired by the early efforts of clubs, Hub Staff decided they would chip in, with everyone at the Head Office in Loughborough encouraged to bring in at least one piece of pre-gamed kit they no longer use.
Those items were collected up at the final all-staff meeting of the year and then sent off to Kitround in time for Christmas.
