Help shape Volleyball England's Equality, Diversity and Inclusion approach

Volleyball England is seeking registered members to join the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Advocacy Group it is setting up.

The group will be tasked with supporting the effective delivery of Volleyball England’s Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), identifying and recommending best practices for promoting diversity within the sport and conceptualising initiatives that support the organisation’s ED&I goals. 

It will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Volleyball England’s diversity and inclusion goals are met, fostering an environment where everyone in the community feels valued and included. 

About the ED&I Advocacy Group 

The Advocacy Group will take initial responsibility for beginning a programme of activities in advance of it eventually assuming the role of a full ED&I Working Group, once ratified by the Volleyball England Board. 

Applications are requested at this stage to form an interim group that will initiate the DIAP.

  

Key Functions and Responsibilities 

Volleyball England is looking for passionate individuals who can support in the following key functions: 

  • Education and training 

Support creation and implementation of ED&I educational programmes for all members of the volleyball’s communities. 

  • Communications and member engagement 

Enhance communication strategies to effectively reach diverse communities and ensure inclusivity in all materials. 

  • Policies and procedures 

Review and recommend changes to the organisation policies to align with ED&I principles. 

  • Increasing opportunities 

Conceptualise initiatives to increase participation from underrepresented communities and make volleyball more accessible.
