UKBT Club Championships winners to earn chance to compete in Europe

England will have a representative at the CEV Beach Volley European Cup in 2024 after the upcoming UKBT Club Championships has been sanctioned as an official qualifier for the prestigious club competition by European Volleyball's governing body.

It means the top-ranked English club in the UKBT Club Championship division in each gender of the event at Sandbanks Beach, Poole on 8th and 9th June will automatically earn the right to compete on the European stage in September or October, at a venue to be confirmed.

The CEV Beach Volley European Cup is a newly-introduced CEV initiative, which aims to expand the existing portfolio of events on the sand by adding clubs to the European beach volleyball ecosystem.

It aims to help grow the sport and develop additional partnerships and synergies, as well as supporting the establishment and development of beach volleyball club competitions at the national level and on the international stage, in close collaboration with national federations and zonal associations.

“I am very excited about the idea that one of our fantastic clubs could be competing against other European clubs this summer,” said Jake Sheaf, CEO of UKBT and a Director on the Volleyball England Board.

“It is another tremendous milestone in the development of beach volleyball here in the UK.”

The deadline for entering the UKBT Club Championships 2024 is midnight on Sunday (2nd June).
