New Volleyball England Facebook group for Juniors Coaches

New Volleyball England Facebook group for Juniors Coaches

Volleyball England is inviting Juniors coaches to join a new Facebook group aimed at improving communication and learning.

The National Governing Body recently published its new approach to developing the Talent Pathway and National team programmes.

One of the three main pillars in that plan is to coach development and recruitment, both from the perspective of player development at the club and regional level, and as the primary source of age group national team coaching staff.

It is intended the group will act as:

  • A platform for regular coach education and development
  • A vehicle by which information about the Talent Pathway and its activities is shared
  • A place to update coaches on Volleyball England Juniors events and competitions
  • A mechanism for Volleyball England to take 0n feedback from the coaching community
  • A way for coaches to connect, interact, and share with each other.

“You can think of it as a kind of community of practice for coaches of Juniors teams throughout England, at all levels,” said John Forman, Volleyball England’s Strategic Manager for Talent.

“Eventually, we’ll integrate all of this with a learning management system (LMS) that is currently being scoped out for use throughout Volleyball England’s organisation-wide educational system.

“However, to get things started as quickly as we can, we’re beginning with this private Facebook group and Microsoft Teams for meetings.

“To that end, please share this with all the Juniors coaches in your club, and encourage them to fill out the form here to request to join the Facebook group.

“The sooner coaches join up the better. We want to start diving right into coach education and development, and there will be plenty to share from a Talent perspective in the weeks ahead.”
