NVL Preview (25th and 26th November)

NVL Preview (25th and 26th November)

Teams sitting second and third meet in the standout fixture in Women’s Division 1 of the NVL this weekend.

Stockport (five wins, one loss) host Richmond (four wins, two losses) at Life Leisure Brinnington Park hoping to underline their promotion credentials.

Leaders Wessex are also in action as they hope to go 7-0 when they entertain fourth-placed Everton Belugas, who double up their trip to the south coast by taking in a second game against Southampton on Sunday.

Leicester Athena and Dartford Chargers will have the chance to improve on their eighth and ninth place positions in the table when they meet in the East Midlands.

Bristol are in action on both days as they journey east to take on MK City on Saturday and London Inter Crocs on Sunday.

Welsh clubs occupy the top two places in Division 2 South and both will have the opportunity to strengthen their hand over a weekend when there are only three fixtures in the division.

Leaders Team South Wales host Sussex Dolphins at the Eastern Community Campus, while second-placed Cardiff Falcons travel to Richmond 2 on Sunday, with the latter also visiting Ashcombe and Dorking the previous day.

The two matches in Division 2 Central see leaders Herts VC journey to Norwich Spikers and third-placed Essex Trinity welcome Northampton.

Only one game takes place in Division 2 North, with Tamworth Spartans making the trip up the M6 to play Urmston Grammar.

Plymouth Unity have yet to get their Division 3 South campaign underway, but do so with a double header, taking on Plymouth and Southampton 2, who also play each other on the South Coast.

Onyx London are the the only unbeaten side in Division 3 South East, to sit second in the table, and face Tendring and Essex Etonians as they look to maintain that record.

Leaders Cambridge, meanwhile, will be out to keep top spot with their own double header against Richmond 3 and Sussex Dolphins 2.

No less than nine games will be played on Sunday in Division 3 Central, with all teams playing, including leaders Darkstar Derbyshire 2 and second-placed Leicester Athena.

Black Country and Black Country 2 also meet, with inter-club bragging rights at stake.

It’s a busy weekend in Division 3 North, where leaders Manchester Liberators, second-placed The Miners Doncaster and York Falcons, in third, all put their 100% records on the line when they meet in round-robin matches.

Unbeaten top two in Men’s Division 1, Essex Blaze and Weymouth Beach, are both in action this weekend.

Blaze could strengthen their position at the top if they win both their games against Tamworth Spartans and third-placed Black Country, who also visit Cambridge.

Beach play only once, at home to Coventry and Warwick Riga, while Manchester Marvels are bound for the capital to face London Aces on Saturday and London Giants on Sunday.

Just three games are scheduled for Division 2 South, with second-placed Exeter Storm hoping to keep their unbeaten record going when they visit City of Bristol.

Third-placed Spelthorne Lions are on the Road at Richmond Bucks, while the bottom two, Wessex and Guildford International, meet at the Ashcombe Volleyball Centre.

Division 2 Central is set to be keenly-contested with every team having lost at least twice so far.

The top two are both in action in the two games being played, with leaders London Baks welcoming MK City and Norwich Spikers hosting Wombourne.

Table toppers Darkstar Derbyshire journey to Liverpool in Division 2 North, while second-placed Sheffield visit fourth-placed Hull Thunder.

Teams in neither Division 3 South West, South East nor North West are in action, but in Division 3 North Central, there is one game, with Nottingham Rockets hosting Black Country 2 on Sunday.
