CEV U20 Beach Volleyball Championships 2023

Playing two games in one day the women's pair of Isabelle Tucker and Lisa Canevari showed great passion against strong opposition. Taking the Slovenian pair of Javornik and Kalar to three sets after winning their first set (21-15), narrowly missing out on a second set win losing (21-17) taking it to a deciding set which they were edged out by the Slovenian duo. 

The second game against a strong Dutch pairing of Konink and Sonneville saw the pair miss out on guaranteed entry into the round of 24 taking it to a must-win final game against the Serbian pair of Micevic and Balac who had lost to both Dutch and Slovenian pairs. 

In their final game, the pair showed a great performance against the Serbian duo of Micevic and Balac who they beat 2-0 dominating the game ( 21-11, 21-15). 

Tucker and Canevari are now in the round of 24! They will take on Romania on Saturday morning.

After beating Andora and Scotland in their qualification the men’s pair of Jake Sanders and Stuart Perry were drawn into a strong pool C where they would have to play Austria, Turkey and Denmark.

The first game against Austria was a good showing by Perry and Sanders but sadly beaten by stronger opposition. 

The second game was against the Turkish pair of Sacit K. and Ahemt Can T. where they fort hard in the second set narrowly missing out on taking it to a decider losing (21-18). 

This took them to a final deciding game against the Danish pair of Hansen and Bisgaard which was essential for them to win to get a chance of getting into the round of 24. 

Sadly, playing against strong opposition the men bow out of the competition, after gaining some great experience and pushing to the end with the second set going to a tiebreak point narrowly missing out to take it to a final set shootout for the round of 24 place.
